The Umbrella Sequence use laptops, drum machines, guitars, synthesizers, pianos, handclaps, gameboys, live drums, and Ryan Rupprecht's vocal chords to make indie-pop music for you. Members Jacob Swogger (guitars/programming/vox), Ryan Masterson (bass/synth), Marshall Baltzell (drums/percussion) and the affirmentioned Ryan Rupprecht (vox/keyboards) form the band's moody foundation. The four-piece create melodic rock inspired by the likes of ELO, Daft Punk, The Unicorns, and Super Furry Animals.
An Umbrella Sequence live show is pretty much the bee's knees. Never the same show twice, they bring it. Whether it's bringing the acoustic show to a theater, the beater guitars and sweaty punk rock to a filthy bar, or all the bells and whistles to the best club in town, the Umbrella Sequence can hold their own while playing with a diverse range of bands. The band has taken their music across the US on numerous occasions and has shared the stage alongside bands like The Starlight Mints, Tapes n Tapes, Of Montreal, The Advantage, and Cloud Cult.
